Metro Image Viewer Conept by Corgana Metro Image Viewer Conept by Corgana
NOTE: the above is an Animated PNG, it may not work in all browsers!

After I left a (somewhat critical) review on SalvoG92's image viewer ([link]) he asked me to whip up a concept for what I had in mind. Here it is!

Notes (Hypothetical):
- Drag image by clicking anywhere
- Zoom/resize with scrollwheel/arrow keys

(And yes, I'm as tired of all these only-a-concepts as everyone else!)

I'm nearly done. but it needs touching up.

Can someone provide me with icons to use or point me at someone who made them?

I am making this using C# and WPF, although there are a few design problems with it.

If you are supposed to be able to move the physical window by dragging anywhere, how would you move the picture around when zoomed in?

I envisioned "zooming" to enlarge the entire window. So moving around the picture is the same as moving the picture.

So you'd have a window that was way larger than your desktop is?
That's a design-choice I don't quite agree with. The way I have made it so far is that you zoom using the scrollwheel. It will zoom ind where your mouse is placed.

The problem here is on where to place your mouse to drag the window, since the picture is the whole window as shown on your concept image. So far I have just made some pixels along the top wit hthe controls to do it, but it the dragable area obviously can't be the whole window since you'd need it for moving the zoomed picture around.

If you can provide me with an e-mail address I can show you how I've made it so far.
